Peace

Yesterday I decided to llok at youtube videos of you and just see how you conducted youself in parliament. The greatest one that I found very funny such a good answer was whwn you were asked on why people are arrested and released or something to that effect and you answered, " Me I arrest people. What happens next is up to he Judiciary not Ojode." That was sucha cool respnse. I also Loved how you loved Saitoti and always defended him and were great friends with him and one could see that it was not just a parliament thing but a rather genuine relationship. I pray that the almighty may rest your soul in Everlasting peace. I also pray that your family may find peace in Christ Jesus at this time and that he will comfort them and give them peace that supasses all human undertanding. Rest in Peace Hon. Ojode

MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE
The National Standards Council, KEBS Management and staff, join Kenyans in expressing our deepest sympathy on the tragic demise of the late Hon. Prof. George Saitoti, Hon. Joshua Orwa Ojode and the four senior Kenya Police officers — Inspector Joshua Tonkei, Sgt. Thomas M. Murimi. Opt. Luke 0. Oyugi Sp. and Opt. Nancy M. Gituanja Sp.

The tragic air accident has robbed the country of true crusaders for the provision of quality services both in the public and private sector. Their performance record is a true indicator of the quality culture they espoused throughout their careers.

The KEBS family will forever be guided by their philosophy of "the country is more important than an individual" while championing the provision of "quality products for quality life

MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE
The Ministry of Education and the entire education fraternity wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to the families of the late Hon. Prof. George Saitoti, Hon. Joshua Orwa Ojode, Captain Nancy N. Gituanja, SP, Captain Luke O. Oyugi, SP, Inspector of Police Joshua L. Tonkei and Sergent Thomas M. Murimi who perished through a tragic helicopter crash on 10th June, 2012. All these public servants met their death while serving the Great Nation.

The late Minister Hon. Prof. George Saitoti and the Assistant Minister Hon Joshua O. Ojode served in the Ministry of Education at different periods. Their combined efforts resulted in the introduction of Free Primary Education (FPE) and Free Day Secondary Education (FDSE) programmes. The late Hon. Prof. George Saitoti spearheaded the development of the current policy framework on education which focuses on expanding access, equity and quality education at all levels and was instrumental in the development of a financing framework for education namely, the Kenya Education Sector Support Programme (KESSP).

This has seen access to education expand at the primary level from 5.9 million in 2002 to the current figure of 9.4 million. At the secondary level enrollment has grown from 800,000 in 2007 to the current figure of 1.9 million. Transition rate has risen from 46% in 2003 to the current figure of 75% making Kenya among the few countries to achieve the goals of Education For All by 2015.

The Late Prof. Saitoti believed that education was a key ingredient to Kenya’s sustainable economic growth in line with the aspirations of Vision 2030. It is along these ideas that he developed a draft manuscript entitled “Economic Growth and Development in Africa, Exploring the Role of Education” which Kenyatta University has very kindly agreed to print in his honour. The late Professor will be fondly remembered both in National and International circles for championing the development of education in Kenya and Africa at large.

Till We Meet Again, Fare Thee Well!!
